Tomorrow is LCE Eats Out at The Village of Sandhills. Your child is bringing home a flyer that explains what to do to participate. There are several yummy restaurants participating!

to complete the Returning Student Annual Registration Update and Verification
on yourchild for the 2016-2017 school year and provide a CURRENT utility bill. You
will access this information through Parent Portal. You may also upload a
current utility bill at this time or send it to school with your child and they can
bring it to the front office for Mrs. Gawrys. Please complete this by the end of
the school year so you'll continue to receive information from LCEU and

Health Room News

Attention All Parents:
Medications are not kept in the health room over the summer.  Please pick up all over-the-counter and prescription medications (inhalers, Epi-pens, other prescription medications) from the health room by Friday, June 3rd at 12 o'clock noon.  Any medications left this time will be destroyed.

Thank you from your school nurses,

Sarah Mishoe RN, Lower Campus
Kathy Waldrep RN, Upper Campus

Parents of Rising Sixth Graders:

South Carolina Immunization laws require a tetanus/ Tdap vaccine for all students prior to entering the seventh grade. Please schedule an appointment with your child’s physician to obtain the required vaccine. Once your child has been vaccinated, bring a copy of the updated shot record to your child’s school nurse.
• One (1) dose of Tetanus/Tdap vaccine (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) administered on or after the 7th birthday will be required for all seventh graders.  It is strongly recommended that adolescents who have not yet received a dose of Tdap vaccine be immunized in advance of this requirement.

Gator Games and Next Week

Gator Games
We had a great time at Gator Games today! The students did a great job competing against each other.  Check out the pictures below...

The final two in the 40 yard dash!
Bennett at the long jump.
Scooter Race
Myles aiming for the target.
Volleyball

My Favorite Part of Gator Games
My favorite part of Gator Games was the water slide because after we did a lot of non-water games it helped us cool down.
-Myles Wilson

My favorite part about Gator Games was Shoot It.  My other favorite part was the popsicles too. I had fun at Gator Games today.
- Sydney Crislip

My favorite part of Gator Games was the long jump. I liked it because it really helped me get better at jumping. It also made me build up confidence.
-Bennett Watts

My favorite part of Gator Games was Tic Tac Toe. To play you would try to throw a bean bag in a hoop. If your team gets three in a row you get one point. The team to five pints first wins. In Tic Tac Toe we were against another team. Unlike actual Tic Tac Toe we did not take turns we just went when the person in front of us finished their turn. It was a really fun game and helped me with my throwing.
-Khushi Udani

Math- I moved the  Module 7 test to Tuesday. We will be reviewing basic multiplication facts and working on harder multiplication problems as well.

Language Arts- We will continue reading Lemonade War.

Science- We will wrap up our unit on magnets with a test on Friday.

Social Studies- We continue learning about Reconstruction in Chapter 9.

Yearbooks- If your child ordered a yearbook they received it today. If you did not order one and would like to purchase one, you can do so by visiting the front office, but it has to be purchased by a parent. The cost is $30.

Next Week

I have the sweetest group of students. They all started trying to come up with a way to make a sign for me and color and sign it. One student brought the sign in while others brought in markers and they worked on it together in the hallway this morning. They were so excited about the surprise. The made me sit in my rocking chair and walked it in like a parade!!
Thanks for all the little goodies from your children this week for Teacher Appreciation! It is hard for me to believe we only have 19 days left of school, but who's counting! ;)

Math- We will finish up Module 7 on Geometry, Area and Perimeter with a test on Friday.

Language Arts- We continue reading Lemonade War. The students quiz on Chapters 1-6 that was scheduled for yesterday will be on Tuesday.  This quiz is open book.

Social Studies- We will wrap up the Civil War with a test on Tuesday.

Science- We continue to learn about magnets.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms! Hope your weekend is relaxing!
