Math- We will wrap up our focus on place value, comparing numbers and ordering numbers up to 999,999 with a graded assignment on Wednesday. We will then move into Chapter 10: Understand Fractions. If you would like to learn more about what your child will be learning with fractions, please read the Chapter 10 Family Letter. The students continue to use Reflex to strengthen their fluency with multiplication. They are welcome to use it at home too.
ELA- We will continue to focus on inquiry skills this week by combining research on the Winter Olympics. In writing, we will start a text dependent analysis writing unit. This writing unit involves reading skills as well since students will learn how to analyze a text.
Science- Your child's pet rock project is due on Tuesday, January 25th. They have to complete the rock the Google Form with questions about their rock. Students will bring their rocks into school on Thursday, January 26th and show them on the Meet Tuesday.
Social Studies- We will be combining reading and social studies as students focus on the Winter Olympics. (countries, athletes, cultures etc.)
