Moving Into February

Mindset Focus: Attitude of Gratitude: Elevate your Perspective
We discussed how important it is to be positive when we come to challenging times in our lives. As an activity to stress the importance of this the students worked in groups to keep a balloon "elevated". They did a great job working together to accomplish this task!

Math- We started Module 4, Multiplication and Area. The students will have a quiz over lessons 1-4 on Wednesday. Please encourage your child to continue to practice their multiplication facts and division facts. Students can practice their fluency (addition, subtraction, multiplication division) on the following website.  https://www.mathsisfun.com/numbers/math-trainer-multiply.html

Language Arts-  We will focus on Making Inferences and Drawing Conclusions. We will also start our writing unit on Literacy Analysis.

Social Studies- We will start our unit on the American Revolution.

ScienceThe students will present their research on land forms and then we will move into natural events (landslides, floods, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes etc.).

Autism Awareness month is in April. The sleeve will have our school name on it and shirts will be recognized as uniform wear.  Remember that KINDNESS is AU-SOME!

Report cards went home in your child's Friday folder. Please keep the report card, but send the envelope back signed. If your child made the A or A/B Honor Roll he/she will be recognized on the morning show next week on Thursday.

Starbooks
The students enjoyed the media center lesson this week with Mrs. Burgos-Carnes (reading coach) and Mrs. Medlock (media center specialist). They engaged in a book tasting! The only thing missing was the coffee. :)
