First Week of April

Report cards come home today. You are welcome to keep the report card, but please sign and return the envelope. Thanks!

Great Job, ALERT Students
The ALERT students have been exploring past civilizations and today they showed their projects off.

Military News from Mrs. Skinner
April is the Month of the Military Child!  LCEU will be celebrating our 125 students with military parents this month.  All parents and students can show their support by wearing purple on Friday, April 7th.  Parents can also volunteer to provide dessert items for a special military kid lunch that will be held on April 26th or volunteer to help serve food and visit with military students while they eat in the Blue Wing on the 26th.  If you are interested in volunteering with the Military Kid Lunch, please email Mrs. Skinner at jskinner@richland2.org for more information.  Thank you for your support!

Insulator Experiment
The students will be doing a fun insulator experiment next Thursday. I told them today to start bringing in any insulator materials (material heat doesn't move through easily) they can find around the house that can be used and then thrown away when we are done. Please do not go buy anything. I wanted to give you a heads up in case they mention it to you.

Math- We will start our last module this year, Module 7. We will focus on Geometry and Measurement Word Problems. I will send a Parent Tip Sheet soon.

Language Arts-We will continue to read Civil War on Sunday. The students will have a quiz on Thursday over chapters 6-10. We will also focus on Text Dependent Analysis and Author's Purpose.

Science- We will wrap up our unit on Heat with a test on Friday. The students will need to bring any insulator materials from home by Wednesday for a experiment next week.

Social Studies- We continue learning about the Civil War.
