A Look Ahead

Fraction Action
Xavier tries to get the bean bag to the farthest fraction from 0 on the number line.

Fractional Autobiography Gallery Walk
The students enjoyed reading and looking at their peers' fractional autobiographies.

Chalk Talk
The students wrote down facts they knew about fast changes to the Earth's surface in science, made connections to what other students knew and asked questions by using "chalk" (or in our case colored pencils). They "talked" with their "chalk" instead of verbalizing their thoughts.

Read with the Gamecocks

The students are coming home today with a Read with the Gamecocks reading log. It starts on Monday and is due on March 10th. I have challenged the class to have all students turn it in because I know they are reading.

Math- We will continue working with fractions in Module 6 and should wrap up be the end of the week with a test the following Tuesday or Wednesday.

Language Arts- The students will put the finishing touches on their Autobiographies. We will continue reading in Revolutionary War on Wednesday. The students will have a test over chapters 6-10 on Friday. We will also look at different types of figurative language. (personification, alliteration, metaphors etc.)

Science- We will continue to look at slow and fast changes to the Earth's surface. We will also discuss how humans cause change to the Earth.

Social Studies- We continue discussing Government.
