A Look Ahead

 Monday I will have a few more students face to face with me in class. I am excited, but I will need everyone to have patience and flexibility as I may be moving around the classroom a little more than normal. 

It is so hard to believe tomorrow is May 1st. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather! 


Virtual Online Auction 

The PTO for both schools is hosting a online auction starting today at 4:00pm and will end on Saturday at 4:00pm. The link will be posted in the communigator at 4:00 pm today and on the Facebook PTO page. Make sure you check out all the items that will be available! 


Curriculum

MathWe will start Chapter 13: Classify Two Dimensional Shapes.If you would like to know more about what your child will be learning in this chapter please read the Family Letter Please encourage your child to practice their multiplication facts. They can use flashcards or the following website: Math Trainer. 

ELA-  We will focus on different text structures (problem/solution, question/answer, description) and comprehending texts with these structues.  In writing, we will continue to focus on nonfiction/informational writing. We will also reivew text depednent analysis before state testing. 

Science- We will focus on weathering, erosion and deposition. 

Social Studies- We will not focus on social studies next week.

A Look Ahead

Purple Up- Celebrating Military Students/Families

Curriculum

Math-  We will wrap up the second part of Chapter 12 on customary and metric units of liquid volume. The students will have a quiz on Thursday. We will start Chapter 13: Classify Two Dimensional Shapes. If you would like to know more about what your child will be learning in this chapter please read the Family Letter Please encourage your child to practice their multiplication facts. They can use flashcards or the following website: Math Trainer. 

ELA-  We continue to focus on the elements of poetry. Your child will have a quiz over figuarative language/poetry on Friday.  In writing, we will focus on nonfiction/informational writing. In grammar we will focus on plural and possessive nouns. 

Science- We will not focus on on science after break. 

Social Studies- We continue focusing on the region of Africa. The students will have a graded assignment on Wednesday.

A Look Ahead

 MAP Testing

The students will take MAP Reading on Tuesday and MAP Math on Wednesday. Our schedule will be a little different both days since we are testing and I will have about half the class testing face to face. We will start testing at 8:45 am so I am asking everyone to be on the Meet at 8:30am both days.  Please make sure your child gets a good night sleep the night before and eats breakfast. I will continue instruction in the afternoon. Virtual students are expected to return to the Google Meet at 12:45. I will be sharing a document with in person students with some reminders, since this is the first time many have been in the school. If you have any questions please let me know. 

LIght It Up Blue- Autism Awareness

ELA-  We continue our focus on figurative language (metaphors, personification, idioms, similes). Your child will have a graded assignment on Monday. We will still focus on figurative language after the quiz, but also on poetry.  In writing, we will focus on informational writing. 

Science- We will not focus on on science after break. 

Social Studies- We continue focusing on the region of Africa.

Report Cards

The office will mail out report cards for the third nine weeks on Wednesday, April 14th. 

Asynchronous E-Learning Days

Thursday, April 15th and Friday, April 16th are asynchronous e-learning days for the district so teachers can receive their second dose of the vacination. Students will find their work posted in Google Classroom each morning. If your child completes the work they will marked present and if they don't they will be marked absent for these two days.
