Congratulations
Madeleine rang the bell this week for achieving her personal goal! Way to go!

Boosterthon
Continue to get pledges for Boosterthon over the weekend! Our class has earned an extra 10 minutes of recess for their pledges. The Fun Run will be on Friday at 9:45 am for third grade.

Flipgrid
The students made their first Flipgrid video. Flipgrid is a fun way for the students to express their thoughts about a topic in class or a question I pose. They shared what their meaningful goal is that would make a difference at school or in class.  Check them out!

Camp Discovery

We had an enjoyable time today at Camp Discovery. The students created bird beaks and tried to pick up "food" with their beaks. They also used tools that simulated different birds' beaks to try and pick up "food". We also went on a hike through the woods and learned about different plant adaptations. For example, did you know that the Virginia Creeper mimics Poison Ivy?

A Look Ahead

Disability Sensitivity Training

Habit Huddle

Every Wednesday we will do a Habit Huddle. We will focus on one of the Habits and do an activity that involves that Habit. Today we discussed Habit #1 Be Proactive and what Circle of Control and Circle of Concern entail. The students were given scenarios and they had to classify it as in their Circle of Control or in their Circle of Concern.

For example, your friend is not following the classroom expectations, but is instead being disruptive. You think you should move away from her. You choosing to move away from your friend is in your Circle of Control, your friend being disruptive is in your Circle of Concern. Could be a great talking point at home too.

Ethan and Kyndall classify their scenarios during Habit Huddle.
