A Look At Next Week

Saving Sam
The students worked with a partner to Save Sam. Sam is a worm whose boat capsized and he is stuck on top of it with his life preserver under his boat. The students had to work together to get Sam back in his boat with his preserver on using only 2 paper clips. They were not allowed to touch Sam, his boat or his life preserver with their hands...only the paperclips! We had some teams Save Sam!

Eva and Mar work on Saving Sam!

Kami and Alexandra saved Sam!!
Media Center Orientation
We had media center orientation today. The students are able to check out up to 3 books at a time. I talked to the class today about how I would love for them to have at least 1 chapter book at all times.

A bird's-eye view...Kami, Olivia, Eva and Delaney reading the books they checked out.

The first few days of third grade have gone smoothly. Next week we will start diving into curriculum in every subject. Your child will also have math homework pretty much every night going forward. Please remind your child to check their agenda and binder for homework. The binder should come home every day. Please do not remove papers from your child's binder if it is behind a tab! We will refer to these notes/papers throughout the unit we are covering at that particular time.

Your child is bringing home the Friday folder. There are a lot of papers in it today...Volunteer Application, Box Top paper etc. Please look through all of them and send back any that you need to.Thanks!
