First Week of May

Writing Pilot Test
The school will be taking a pilot test for writing on May 4th. We will treat it just like a state testing day. This way the students will be prepared when we take SC Ready in a couple weeks.


State Museum
We had a great time today at the State Museum. The class represented out school well. The students recognized many exhibits as things we have discussed and learned about in class.

Math- We continue learning about Geometry in Module 7. The students will have a quiz on Tuesday

Language Arts- We are reading Lemonade War and reviewing many reading skills while while reading the novel. The students will have a quiz over Chapters 1-6 on Friday.

Science- We continue to discuss Magnets.

Social Studies- We will start discussing Reconstruction in SC.

Gator Games
Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves at Gator Games. Glad we had such a nice day! I'm sure they will sleep well tonight...I know I will! I think the water slides and popsicles were the most popular stations. :)

Math- We continue learning about Geometry in Module 7. The students will have a quiz on Thursday. 

Language Arts- The reading test for "Nacho and Lolita" has been moved to Monday, due to Gator Games today. We will also start the novel, Lemonade War

Science- We continue learning about magnets and electromagnets. 

Social Studies- We will wrap up our unit on the Civil War with a test on Thursday

Week After Spring Break

Students designed cooking pots for my "company". They had to use their knowledge of conductors and insulators to create a fabulous cooking pot. They also had to write paragraph persuading me to pick their design. Below are some of the winners..

Purple Up Day
Students wore purple today to support Military Families. 


Math- We will continue our focus in Module 7 on Geometry and Word Problems. The students will have a quiz over lessons 4-7 on Wednesday. 

Language Arts- We will be reading the story "Nacho and Lolita" from our reading books. The students will have a test over the story on Friday. We will also continue to work on test dependent analysis and review standards as we count down towards state testing in May. 

Science- We will start learning about Magnets.

Social Studies- We continue learning about the Civil War in SC.

Icebox Challenge

Icebox Challenge
The students brought in different types of insulators to take part in our secret challenge today. The students worked together in learning clubs to insulate a cup of ice cream. The goal was to keep the ice cream from melting! They did a great job planning and working together to accomplish their goal!
